The projects

The whole shebang: Pomax

This project has been reopened, as I initially gave it to ILA to sub around the start of december 2002. It is now may 2003. There is still no sub of it out by ILA.

Since the reason I gave it to ILA was that they could sub it faster than I could, but didn't, I'm hereby reopening it as project again.

Lupin the third: Episode 0
"First Contact" (done)

If there was ever a "coolest character" in the history of anime, and there is, then it would be Lupin.

A masterthief, not to mention the ladies man, Lupin always ends up in trouble when he decides to go for something out of reach of most. Accompanied by the crackshot Jigen, swordsmaster Goemon and femme fatal Fujiko Mine, no matter what the plans are, it always ends in something worth watching and laughing over.

Always funny, and always worth to watch because there's always a plot, lupin has been a success since the first movie in 1971 (castle of Cagliostro) and since then has had 180+ TV episodes and about 20 movies and specials out. Staying with the times, where Lupin used a grapling hook to get into a place in 1971, he uses a laptop running *nix to hack his way into a floormap in 2000. This, paired with the never dying humor and thrills make Lupin the 3rd a fantastic concept.

"First contact" is the 30 year anniversary special (92 minutes) telling the story of how everyone meets up on that fateful first adventure.

Mizuiro Jidai (47 episodes):

A 1996 anime of the old school animation type, mizuiro jidai is a heartwarming story about a young girl going to japanese highschool and her life from that moment. Based on the manga by Yu Yabuuchi, it bears animation style resemblences to animes such as Touch and the original Dragonball, with a storyline that is less focussed on humor as was the tradition for long runners in the 1980s, with a more serious tone for an audience that wanted more drama in the weekly anime intake.

The project is handled by Aikousha, meaning that while Mopaxian Honyaku supplies translations and tries to make sure that the subs are correct before they get encoded, the end responsibility for each ep and the series as a whole lies with Aikousha. For errors in translation, as always, please email me so that I can prevent future mishaps.

Psychic Academy Aura Banshou (24 episodes - done):

An online-only anime (http://aura.lycos.co.jp) serialised in various manga magazines. being eps even shorter than galaxy angel and airing once every week (on friday) we liked it enough to just do some subs for it. However upon progression it turned out it's not my ideal show... =)

All the psychic academy episodes will be encoded using sbc divx 3.11, and intended to be a size around 60 Mb. Audio has been mp3 reinserted and as we work off the RM streams, various 'make it look prettier' filters were used to 'make it look prettier'. Also to blow up the res and get a visibly better thing that what is being provided as webstream.

Lastly, you may put questionmarks at our decision to leave the sponsor/creator logos in the animation. Afterall, we could have saved precious megabytes... but forget megabytes for a moment, these people bring us anime, so it's all good: and we're keeping the logos in.

Addendum: we were unable to keep the 'sbc divx' promise. Due to shitframing (no really that's what it's called) we were forced to releases some div4 episodes.

Azumanga Daiou - the very short movie (done)

A nicely pointless anime, Azumanga is that feel-good, play-anytime, leaves-you-smiling king of anime. This was a short promo film on 22 december 2001, aired with the slayers 'movie', digi charat 'movie', and sakura taisen movie.

This was a one-time azumanga sub, we'll leave the 130 ep series to the other groups =)

(Though if I can find the raws for the web episodes, of which only 1 is subbed, I might do some creative work if I have time...)

Galaxy Angel Season 1 (26 episodes - licensed - ceased distro):

Galaxy angel is an anime by Broccoli (http://www.broccoli.co.jp/ga/index.html) about 5 girls who make up the galaxy angel team, with as task to find 'lost technology'. (the earth had lost a lot of their technological ability during a crisis in the not too distant past). it's zany and they generally screw things up, which is why we like it =)

Buy this series when it's out on DVD. This is no salespitch, the series is just cool ^_^
