instructions=The object of this exercise is to choose the correct pronunciation of each syllable that appears. Two methods of answering are provided. The first is the groups of buttons associated with each syllable. The second is to type in the correct pronunciation in the "Keyboard Entry" area and hit enter. Using the first method, you must click the appropriate button to submit your answer. Buttons that are of a lighter color are "off" which means they are not available to be clicked as an answer. This also means that these syllables will not appear during your training. To use the second method, simply click inside of the white text area in the lower right portion of the screen labled "Keyboard Entry". Once you click inside the text area, you must type the answer and hit enter to submit your answer. You can switch between each method at anytime with no trouble. To turn the syllables on or off, click the on/off buttons at the top of each column. You can turn on/off entire sections as well as columns by clicking the appropriate buttons found in the "Group On/Off Buttons" section on the left side of the screen. When you move your mouse cursor over the Group On/Off Buttons, the section they are associated with will be highlighted by a green rectangle. This lets you know which section you are about to turn on or off. There are four sections: Basic Hiragana and Katakana, Dakuten forms, Maru forms, and Glides. You can choose to train with either hiragana or katakana or both at the same time. Depending on which basic set you are training with, the other sections will change to match. There are two styles for displaying the syllables: Typed or Written. The default is "Typed" which shows the character in a blocky form. The "Written" style displays each syllable as it would likely appear written, showing the strokes made to write the syllable. If you do not know for sure which syllable is being displayed, you can click the "Hint" button and it will highlight the row the syllable is in. If you click the "Hint" button again it will highlight the correct answer. Any questions, concerns, or technical service questions can be sent to: service@dragonmedia.us
