tips=Tips: 1.) If you are new to the hiragana and katakana, try turning off all columns except for one and work with 5 kana at a time. 2.) The katakana syllables shi and tsu as well as so and n look similar. The differences between them are the direction of the stroke when they are written and the angle of the line. This is sometimes hard to notice with the syllables being displayed in "Typed" form. Changing to "Written" will help. Pronunciation Notes: These notes will point out pronunciation differences between typing kana and speaking the syllable. All syllables listed can be interchanged in the keyboard entry box and will be counted correct. 1.) The dakuten form of the syllable "tsu" is referred to as "du" if you look at the buttons options. However the pronunciation of "du" is "zu". You only type "du" when you want the dakuten form of "tsu". Note: It used to be prounced as "dzu". 2.) The dakuten form of the syllable "chi" is referred to as "di" if you look at the button options. However it is pronounced as "ji" and only typed as "di" if you wish to type the dakuten of "chi".
