Donations to nihongoresources
The why of it all...
This page is to explain a bit about the point of donations to this site, and what they get you as user. Basically there are three points to donations: foremost, they need to cover the hosting costs. I used to run google-ads, which generated about $10 a month, but after migrating host and codebase, this dropped to about $1 a month, which doesn't cut it so I had to drop them, so some of the donation money is used to cover the hosting charge. Secondly this money is for the purchase of "nihongo stuff": books on Japanese (dictionaries, textbooks, reference works) that allow me to gain more insight into the language and work that into the material you find on the website like the grammar or lessons pages, as well as buying programs that I use to write the content with. The final purpose is basically personal - to allow me to afford my expensive habit of loving someone who lives half the world away. Until I manage to actually migrate to Canada, return trips for visits cost roughly 700 euro, and as is the case with any costly habit, I try to indulge in it as often as possible. So even if your donations aren't being spent on material for the site directly, it's being used to keep me happy in probably the most worthwhile way I can think of, and when I'm happy, I am more motivated to work on NR... in a way it all works out really.

How to donate
Simply click the paypal donate button below and fill in whatever you think the site is worth having donated! No amount is too big, and for that matter no amount is too small either: $1 donations make you just as much a hero as a $50 donation! (though admittedly the latter gets you an honorable mention ^^;)
